My name is Sean Carr, I'm a Social Worker practicing at the Waterford branch of Viewpoint Psychology and Wellness. I did my undergraduate study at the University of Michigan and received my Masters in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. Through my education, my work, and the experience of living my own life, I've learned and embraced the idea that Psychiatrist Bruce Perry summed up best, "relationships are the agents of change, and the most powerful therapy is human connection." I'm passionate about providing caring, person-centered therapy. My primary focus with clients is on the crucial role that relationships play in our development, and seeking to build a therapeutic connection that can foster healing and growth. I believe that the therapy that helps most has to be warm, curious, accepting, empathetic, and playful. That's all a long way of saying I genuinely care about the people I get to work with, and if you're thinking about therapy, I'd love to get to know you too.
