Lenny's treatment philosophy focuses on developing a positive relationship with the client. He frequently uses humor to confront feelings of shame, fear and inadequacy, and prefers to gently approach sensitive topics. Lenny tends to take a cognitive behavioral and family systems approach when working with individual and families and focuses on finding pragmatic solutions to the dilemmas that clients struggle with on a day-to-day basis.
Lenny received a B.S. in Psychology from Michigan State University and a M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Detroit-Mercy in 1996. He has worked in a diverse set of community based treatment environments and has provided out-patient mental health services since 2000. In addition to direct service clinical experiences, Lenny was also the clinical director of a counseling department for a local social service agency. Lenny is well-versed in treating individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma and loss, childhood behavioral issues, family issues and relationship issues.
Lenny currently resides in Oakland County with his wife, teenage son and his puppy. No one in his house listens to a word he says, so keep that in mind if you are looking for input on parenting, marital or dog training issues.
