Kudos on taking this step in your journey to inner healing, health, and growth. In a world that still views vulnerability as weakness, it takes significant strength and courage to seek out help. I'm glad you're here. I am passionate about helping and working with folks of all backgrounds and walks of life who are struggling with acute and complex trauma. I am experienced helping people navigate the first stages of trauma recovery. I've found that this stage can feel overwhelming and even scary for many however, with the right support it can also be an immense relief to finally start the healing journey. Anxiety, depression, attachment wounds, and grief can come up during trauma work, and I have experience guiding folks through these challenges as well. I will hold space for all of the complex emotions and situations you may bring into session and promise never to judge or dictate your next steps. Trust takes time, and you will never be expected to share more than you feel comfortable with at any point in our work together. We will work together on growing and/or re-building your felt sense of safety and stability in both mind and body. To help accomplish this, I like to incorporate mindfulness-based approaches and somatic practices when appropriate to re-establish this connection. We will work collaboratively, and I will always encourage your autonomy and agency throughout our work together. Mental illness doesn't occur in a vacuum and social injustice affects us all. Acknowledging and celebrating all of the intersecting identities clients hold, including gender identity, race, class, sexual orientation, ethnicity, age, disability status, religion/spirituality, and body size, are paramount to my practice. Asking for help and being vulnerable requires the true essence of bravery. It's an honor to be a helpful guide to you as you embark on this chapter.
